Power On Order
  • Move X & Y to the max negative values and the Z to the highest point. This is your machine home point
  • Press HOME ALL (now all the soft limits will be sorted)
  • Press the soft limit button to activate  (to setup > Axis Setup and enter values (min/max): X (0-340) Y(0-410) Z(-70-0)
Set Work Co-ordniates For X-Y see probing below Probe Z Height 1./ test probe with the diagnostics first to make sure its connected 2./ Place probe on work piece and press auto zero (setting are found in Setting > Functions > Auto Zero Setup
Probing
Initial Feedrate speed probe move for first touch Slow Feedrate Speed probes moves for second pass. (Set slow to 0 if you only want one pass). Probe distance Max dist probe will travel before it stops Z-clearance only used when you probing the outside of a cylinder. X-Y - clearance when probing x,y this is the amount the probe backs off after hitting edge. Probe diam Usually just the tool diameter if using tool or a probe. Edge length Dist between 2 probe points when probing an edge Pullback Dist Dist pullback for double probing (2nd probe or inside cylinder.) Corner Probe Roughly how far from the corner you are. This value need to be greater than where you presently located Plate Offset In the same way as the z-height tollsetter you can also use a plate to place maybe on the side of your workpiece. This value would be your plate thickness. Auto Zero CHECKBOX When checked it writes the values into of the zero position into the work co-ordinated (usually G54).
Edge
After retracting, writes the zero position as middle of the probe/tool on the edge
Corner
After retracting, writes the zero position as middle of the probe/tool on the corner
Inside cylinder
Zero position right in the middle
Between Edge (x-x oy y-y)
Zero position right in the middle
Probe Edge CHECKBOX Let you probe an edge and gives an angle in the standard cartesian angles One time Edge CHECKBOX Only probes two points to get an angle ??? Probe outside cylinder I had issues with this. It seems to do the following: 1./ It uses the Edge Length variable to move that distance away to the other side (so make this bigger than the cylinder) and 2./ ??? is seems to use the Z-clearance value as the ACTUAL position to move in between probes (so say z-clearance=4 then it would move to Z=4 between probes. So this could be up or down.) basically you best zero Z at the first probe height. Its much easier to use the inside cylinder probe.
